About us
Our story
Hello – I’m Nigel Jones, founder of CloudHappi.
Having spent over 40 years working in IT and over 10 years as a school governor, trustee, and just completed a term as chair of a multi-academy trust, I know how vital efficient IT is to schools.
You need it to deliver a first-class education to your pupils and students, to empower your teachers to work flexibly, and to keep your school open no matter what’s going on in the world.
I also know that many schools are adrift – and that IT is more often a hindrance than a help.
I established CloudHappi to change this.
Working in a multi-academy trust, I was charged with putting IT services for a brand-new school out to tender. When three IT companies came back with the same solution – an outdated expensive on-premise server which requires, on average, £2,200 electricity to run it, alarm bells started to ring.
We expanded the tender to seven companies… and again – the same overpriced cookie-cutter solution.
For better education,
look to the cloud.
I decided to do my research. I contacted 100 IT companies who supply services to schools and got the same response. “We know it’s not the fastest, safest or most reliable service, but we’ve always done it this way. And besides – it’s profitable!”
Yes – you read that right. These IT companies are making a lot of money from selling old technology and they’re not prepared to lose this easy income by taking a fresh approach.
What’s more, their service includes three hours of premium-priced on-site support every week or two weeks, whether you need it or not! In fact, it’s in their interests not to fix the problems – because they make more money this way.
The business world would never accept this – and schools shouldn’t either. Â
At CloudHappi, we’re on a mission to shake up IT services for schools, and show you there is a better way. And because IT should be the least of your worries, it should just work, and we’re here to ensure that happens by providing cloud-based data storage and systems that empower you to focus on running your school and providing first-class education.Â
It’s what you’re here for, after all.Â
